You could buy the packets from CVS and get it done…….OR….you could do something really special.
Here are some creative ways to dye Easter Eggs using natural dyes:
- Red – strawberries, cherries, red onion skins, apple peels,m red wine, beets, pomegranites
- Yellow – onion skins, lemon peels
- Blue – blueberries
- Purple – blackberries, grape juice, violet blossoms, red cabbage leaves
- Green – spinach
- Orange – orange peels, carrots, cumin, turmeric, paprika
- Brown – coffee
Add a little vinegar to each solution to help the dye stick to the eggs. Vary the amount of time you let the eggs soak to get a variety of colors. Afterward, rub your eggs with a little vegetable oil to give them a shine.
